Rttr_dm Regular is a font based on Het Nieuwe Instituut, or more specifically an event they had. An event that let people onto their rooftop via a bright pink staircase. Inspired by this, I created a font that simulated that staircase.
This font explores 3-dimensionality in a multitude of senses. The grid is a 3D grid, and this is shown in the lines or the black “shadow” or “platform” elements of the font. It is also seen in the difference between uppercase and lowercase letters. This difference in grid creates a dynamic play with 3-dimensionality that makes for a playful and interactive feel.
